Research calls for more intelligent approaches to search for a cure for cancer, one which focuses on the different characteristics of specific cancers, and which considers how cancer develops differently depending on the individual patient.

Techniques are being trailed to find new ways to repair scarred heart tissue and improve heart function after the damaging effects of a heart attack.

Data published recently by Cancer Research UK has revealed that survival rates for testicular cancer  have improved dramatically in the last few decades. Earlier detection allied to new therapies mean that the typical five year survival rate is increasing.
