Entering the 20th century the country proved its military might, and was victorious in all of the major world wars. While the Cold War era brought on a possible clash with the Soviet Union to the table, the fall of the USSR in 1991 and subsequent end of the Cold War left the United States as the world’s sole superpower. Today, beyond the current financial crises that have plagued the country, and the rest of the world, the United States is still the worlds most powerful and dominant country. From its major urban centers like New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco to its spectacular natural wonders such as Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park, the United States is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
