All water in Thailand in which is needed to be used for drinking, freezing or brushing your teeth should always be sterilised (boiled) to avoid any diseases, In Thailand water born diseases are around so be sure of your safety. You should ONLY eat very well cooked meet and fish, preferably piping hot, do not reheat any foods. You should be aware of salads and some types of meet such as pork, as they may carry a risk of diseases. Avoid dairy products if it has been made with milk that has not been boiled first. All fruit and vegetables should be carefully prepared, Cook all types of vegetables and fruit must always be peeled.

Before you travel to Thailand, make sure you are protected of Tetanus (diphtheria, polio and TB). If you are over 55 years old, go to your GP to check if you are still immunised. Another is Typhoid; this protects you from the food and water where the hygiene is poor. Also Hepatitis A & B, Hep A' can also be transmitted through food and water where Hep B' is known to be transmitted through sexual intercourse.
Go to your GP around 6 weeks before travelling to have theses vaccinations for a safe holiday. Avoid swimming in the fresh water; make sure the water in the swimming pool is well and chlorinated and well maintained.

When travelling to Thailand, taking an International Health Insurance or Travel Health Insurance is highly recommended. In the main cities and centres the medical facilities are relativity good. In all major hotels there will have doctors on call for when or if they are needed. Shop around to find the best insurance to cover you.
Please note that if you are suspected of carrying AIDS or confirmed of carrying AIDS, you will be refused of entry. Remember to check this information out if this applies to you before arranging your trip.
