South Africa, or officially known as the Republic of South Africa, is a country situated at the southern tip of the African continent. This forced segregation of the black community from white urban areas, schools and medical facilities continued until the first multi-racial elections in 1994, which ended segregation in the country. The country is know run by the African National Congress (ANC). South Africa is a middle income nation that continues to expand and thrive economically and is noted for being the next country to host the World Cup Finals in 2010.
