Heart Disease
Heart Disease Information
General Info

Heart diseases are one of the leading causes of death all over the world. Certain risk factors have been identified from extensive clinical and statistical studies that include some uncontrolled factors, which are age, sex and heredity (born factors which can't be altered). Seniors, males and children with strong history of heart attacks in past generations, are more prone to heart diseases.

Symptoms

There are some risk factors that can be controlled by making some basic changes in lifestyle. Cigarette smoking, obesity, irregular levels of blood cholesterol and sugar (Glucose) are the major risk factors in this category. Excessive smoking is extremely dangerous for both lungs and heart. All other factors can be very well controlled by following some dietary approaches (Low fat diets) and including fresh green vegetables & fruits in your diet. Then follow with regular exercise to reduce excessive fat as well as keep your blood circulatory system normal and effective. If blood circulatory system is running fine that means your heart is pumping and functioning normally. Exercises may include running, swimming, walking or skipping.

Other important factors associated with heart problems are stress and hypertension. In today's fast moving world, everyone is suffering from stress and hypertension, this may be work related or related to personal problems. Researche has shown that there is a direct relationship between risk of heart disease and stress in a person's life. People under stress tend to overeat, start smoking or smoke more than they otherwise do. To lower stress level, one can involve ones self in counseling where one can talk about one's feelings and problems. Medication and yoga also help in reducing stress and hypertension. Drinking too much alcohol also affects heart quite adversely. This results in high blood pressure, which subsequently leads to heart failure and stroke. Thus have a check on alcohol level to keep your heart healthy enough

Prevention/Treatment

In today's busy lifestyle where everybody is working for long hours and most of us use to eat fast food like burgers, pizzas etc. that have high fat content. The worst thing is that since nobody has enough time for exercising, this fat never gets burnt. This leads to deposits of fat under the belly, which again increases the chances of heart attacks. Inactive people are more prone to heart diseases than the active ones. All those people who find themselves associated with one or more of the above mentioned risk factors and are at the risk of heart problems. If you are at risk, then don't delay anymore. Visit your doctor today and modify your lifestyle to protect your heart from any kind of problems and keep it healthy and normal. Keep some time from your busy schedule to exercise regularly. Follow a diet chart and eat only healthy food with low fat content. Give up smoking or drinking even if you are addicted to it. Remember life is a precious gift don't lead your life to a premature end by your own negligence. Hence follow a healthy lifestyle and maintain a healthy heart.
