Egypt is able to provide some quality healthcare service but, medical facilities can be basic and vary throughout the country. The medical facilities outside of the major cities can be inadequate and will not be able to provide you with anything other than emergency treatment. Most of the hospitals and medical facilities are running at over capacity with a shortage of medical supplies and staff. Rural hospitals and facilities are strongly not recommended as venues for receiving healthcare treatment. In case of an emergency in the rural ares you are advised to seek treatment in Cairo.
